Prompt 1

Describe your most memorable vacation.

My most memorable vacation would have to be the surprise trip hubby planned for us to Washington. It was for our 5 year wedding anniversary and I got to see orcas in person in the wild. It was wild.

I’m pretty spoiled when it comes to vacations though. I grew up taking trips with my parents and two brothers, often to Georgia to visit family. We would check out new things and have mini adventures every trip.

As an adult hubs and I work hard to take time away a few times a year with our little cherubs to explore and adventure. We frequent the beach (hence my first post) and absolutely love every second of disconnecting and watching the kids experience moments we experienced ourselves growing up on the shore.

We are Disney lovers and I don’t think we have had a Disney trip we didn’t absolutely love – at least most of – although it’s pricey and there are always minor hiccups to handle.

I had the experience of traveling to Italy in middle school with school. That trip was amazing but I was far too young to truly appreciate what I was experiencing and that makes me a little bitter. I feel like I could have enjoyed it so much more had I known a little more at the time about the world and life – not that I know a ton now but I definitely know more than 14 year old me.

Watching the orcas swim past our boat though. That was magnificent. Did you know orca males never leave their mothers? They venture off but always return. It is amazing how animals that live their whole lives in the oceans swimming about can be so complex. It’s miraculous hearing them breathe and spurt out air in unison. It’s breathtaking to truly see their size and take in their splendor. That vacation for sure takes the cake. Spending time with the hubby and reconnecting was definitely a plus too.
