Rainy Days

I love the rain. Hear me out. In a world where it’s constant movement, being busy, tackling to-do lists, meal prepping, all the things all the time it’s nice when the universe is telling you to slow down. I don’t feel the guilt associated with moving a little slower when it’s a downpour outside. I love the sounds. The wind blowing and thunder cracking. It reminds me that there are things that are so much bigger than us and our things.

In a way when it storms it’s ingrained in my heart that it’s Gods way of reminding me it’s okay to be calm. It’s okay to move slower. It’s ok to soak in the day and feel at peace during the storm.

I work from home so it’s also a little helpful that I don’t get that FOMO when it’s raining. I look out my window and let the cat snuggle in my lap because given the option I’d choose plugging away, ever so slowly, at the tasks that need to be accomplished within my cozy home over anything in the rain. I do entertain the rain for my kiddos. There is something about playing in the rain (when it’s not too cold) when you’re young they just makes it so much fun.

Have a wonderful sunny day but on days when the rain falls – remember it’s still a pretty good day
